Have you noticed?

Dyslexia looks different from child to child. Two underlying processes are usually involved, and the assessment tells us which ones to target.

Phonological
  • Trouble sounding out unfamiliar words
  • Guessing at words instead of decoding them
  • Adding or dropping sounds in words
  • Behind in reading or spelling, or avoiding reading altogether
Orthographic
  • Can't hold onto spelling words, even after studying
  • Letter reversals or the wrong letter when spelling
  • Doesn't recognize words they've already learned
  • Slow reading, or trouble with handwriting and letter size

How we teach

We use the Lindamood-Bell LiPS® and Seeing Stars® programs, delivered one-to-one by instructors trained to adjust in the moment.

LiPS® for phonological processing

Students learn to identify, sequence, and manipulate the sounds in words by attending to what their mouth is doing. It builds the pathway that sounding out depends on.

Seeing Stars® for symbol imagery

Strengthens the memory for letters and letter patterns while systematically introducing spelling rules through multisensory practice.

Both, when a child needs both

Many students have a mixed profile. We overlap the two programs where needed and tailor the balance to your child.

Three ways to schedule it

Reading and spelling programs are most effective when they're frequent. How frequent is a conversation about your child, your family, and school.

Intensive

6–9 weeks · 5 hours a day, 5 days a week

Complete a full intervention in a single stretch, usually over a summer or a school break. Includes pre- and post-assessment, regular progress reports, and materials to keep growing afterward.

Partial intensive

3–4 months · 2–3 hours a day, before or after school

Most of the benefits of an intensive while your child stays in school and keeps their activities. 10–15 hours a week.

Flexible

Ongoing · 1–3 days a week after school

Shorter sessions on a steady schedule. A good fit for younger students, lighter profiles, or families who need to build slowly.

Total program length depends on your child's profile. We give you a real estimate before you commit.

Tell us about your child

Start with a conversation. We'll listen, look at what you already have, and tell you honestly what we recommend. No pressure, no sales pitch.
